Dear Customer:

Bitmain has determined that, in a small percentage of S9-B1 with 14T, the hast rate cant reach to the guaranteed 14T ±5%,The affected units were primarily shipped out on June 12, 2016.

If your S9-B1 Antminer is running below 13.3T, please download new firmware on WeTransfer(https://we.tl/UT5QgpzDb6) and refer to the steps below to fix the issued miners.

1. After login the webpage of the miner ,enter the System→Upgrade page

2. In the “Flash new firmware image” section , ‘Keep setting’ is chosen by default .

Be sure deselect this option when you use the firmware to fix the issues. After upgrade the firmware ,please reset your Worker under “Miner General Configuration” interface.

3. Click ‘Browse’ button to choose the upgrade file (s9-20160622-650M-for-low-voltage.tar.gz)on your PC. Select the upgrade and click the ’Flash image...’ button

4. Click “OK” in the pop-up dialog

5. Then wait about 1 minute for uploading the firmware ,wait about 2-3 minutes for Rebooting the system. Then you will see this interface after upgrading successfully.

Please note :

1. During the upgrade process, you need to wait patiently, and must keep the miner power on, otherwise, the AntMiner can only be fixed with returned to factory.

2. After using this firmware ,the Temp(PCB) and Temp(Chip) on the Miner Status will a little higher, this is normal.

I'm trying to get a hold of someone who can upload the firmware source code for the S9 to https://github.com/bitmaintech or somewhere else online as is legally required per the GPLv2 and GPLv3 licenses. I've made multiple support tickets but the agents I've been talking to don't seem to understand that releasing the source code is a legal requirement in order to use the copyrighted software contained on the firmware images. Can someone help me get a hold of the correct department that would be able to handle this?

Great. I didn't uncheck 'Keep Settings'.

The S9 is hashing normally at the pool, apparently, but I can't login to it. It's at a hosting center so it's hard for me to reset it.

What do I need to do to be able to login again?

Hi - After flashing my S9 Batch 14 with the latest firmware I too have the same error "Socket connect failed: Connection refused".  Also tried flashing again, harware reset, etc.  No go.

I have the same problem as well with S9 B1 using firmware 'Antminer-S9-all-201610202136-autofreq-user.tar'. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need previous firmware.

antpool_141652 • #12 • 2016-10-30 16:23:57

Yikes...

I upgraded the firmware as well, and I too was seeing "Socket connect failed: Connection refused".

For a number of very long minutes, I was researching everything I could find, looking for an old version of the firmware, rebooted, reset defaults, re-uploaded the firmware, etc...

After a while, I went back and updated the status, only to see the the miner was working!!!

The new firmware can take seeming "Hours" (really, it is probably only 3 or 5 minutes) to retry the connection and get through. I've got the 550 Mhz 11.9 TH/s version, and that may have something to do with it.

I hope you have the same luck.

jarom.tenney • #17 • 2017-04-08 20:48:25

socket connection failed error is ok just let the miner do its thing and it will correct itself. if it still does it after 30 min or so then unplug and restart and try again.

my problem is that my miner status shows me mining at 13.5th but the antpool shows me at 10Ths or below. anybody know what is causing this?

getting a lot of HW from two boards and a reboot helps but I shouldnt have to reboot everyday to correct this any suggesttions?

Hello,

I have the same issue with S9 13.5TH. The miner shows Temp only on two chains and Average speed is 10,075.56 GH/S. Reboot does not help.

Can anybody help?
